MLB The Show 22
Campaign, packaging
To those who aren’t already fans of the sport, Baseball has a general perception of being slow and boring. Partnering with PlayStation we set out to not just prove that wrong, but infuse excitement while creating awareness about the fun to be had in this moment-to-moment game.
COVER ATHLETE
Shohei Ohtani is a once-in-a-generation talent. He’s the first two-way player (pitcher and hitter) in MLB since Babe Ruth.

Reveal
We revealed this year’s cover star during a live stream from Times Square. After the news was dropped we debuted our athlete trailer that tells Shohei’s story and announced the game was coming to the Nintendo Switch for the first time.
Collector’s Edition
While still riding high from the news of Ohtani gracing our cover, we released a second piece that was inspired by his childhood love of manga. We partnered with manga illustrator Takashi Okazaki to bring our Shohei to life in his style for the collector’s edition SteelBook cover.

MLB Legends were also brought to life in this style as playable in-game cards.
